Finding change since 1998. Pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, everything. This is a log of what I have found.

I found eight-teen dollars and forty-two cents this year, including six single-dollar bills. Rest in change.

Wishing everyone a healthy, prosperous and peaceful new year.

I found fifty-three dollars and forty-nine cents over the course of 2014.

Found quite a few pieces of paper currency and filled up my bank for the year, a model British phone booth.

January: $12.58 (including two $5 bills and two $1 bills)
February: $0.21 (including a 1957 wheat penny)

May: $1.43
June: $1.24
July: $1.55
August: $2.59
September: $21.97 (including a $20 bill)

Wishing everyone who stops by a happy, healthy and prosperous new year...

I found eighteen dollars, even, this past year. (Well, I had some help from Noah, but I'll still choose to use the personal pronoun.) One-third of the year's tally was a $5 bill and a $1 bill. September saw only eleven cents in finds, the lowest monthly total in ages.

The change finding has gotten a bit fallow as I've gotten older and busier. I'll pass coins now if I'm in a rush. And sometimes I forget to log. Still, I added eighteen dollars that I'd not otherwise have had.

Happy New Year to anyone who stops by -- hit me up on Twitter or email if you want to chat. Otherwise, here's to a healthy and prosperous 2014.

Happy New Year...

I found $21.64 this past year, including two five-dollar bills, a one-dollar bill and, believe it or not, a fifty-cent piece on the floor of a NJ Transit train.

It's been quite a while since I logged on here--so much so that I forgot my password and account name. I also fell off the tweeting awhile back. I still keep track in paper form, but I find far less than I used to, so the daily entries are few and far between.

For anyone stopping by, now or in the future, I hope you have a healthy and prosperous new year. Drop me a line sometime...

Sunday, January 01, 2012

I found thirty-two dollars and eighty-eight cents last year--the bulk of which came in the form of a twenty-dollar bill I found at Citizens Bank Park at my buddy's 50th birthday party.

I sort of doubt anyone is checking in here regularly anymore, but hello to anyone who stops by. I started my change quest on Jan. 19, 1998, and while I don't blog regularly anymore, and often forget to tweet in real time, I'm still keeping track. My 13-year total is over eight hundred dollars. And I think my ultimate goal of showing my son the value of money is working. Yesterday he said "a penny earned is a penny found"; not quite the exact phrase but I understood.

Happy new year!

Friday, December 31, 2010

I found fifty-five cents in November, $1.53 in December, and $27.86 for the full year.

I've gotten pretty bad about posting and even Tweeting. My change quest isn't ending, but I'm definitely not as meticulous as I'd been in the past.

Sunday, October 31, 2010

I found one dollar and fifteen cents in October, closing out the month with a find of three cents. The quest grinds on, slowly but surely.
